The Buddies Program

One of the core values of Temple Sinai of Glendale is Kehillah Kedoshah – Building Community. Through our Temple Sinai Buddies Program the Social Action Committee is hoping to build and strengthen our community by finding connections between our congregants that will bring us closer together. We realize that all of our congregants have something to offer one another – whether a few minutes of conversation or sharing of a special skill.

The Buddies Program is divided into the following two parts:

  • Providing volunteers who can provide services to fellow congregants such as grocery shopping, dog walking, tutoring etc.
  • Providing opportunities for engagement with one another through classes, workshops and get-togethers (currently over Zoom) on specific subjects such as holiday celebrations, cooking and crafting.

While originally conceived to provide much needed connection during the isolating times of COVID, we hope that the outreach and programming that has sprung from the Buddies Program will carry us through our time on Zoom and continue when we can again be together in person.

There are always instances in our lives when we can use a Buddy.
