SOVA COMMUNITY FOOD AND RESOURCE PROGRAM
EAT AND BE SATISFIED
SOVA is a Hebrew word meaning “eat and be satisfied”. The SOVA Community Food and Resource Center (a part of Jewish Family Service Los Angeles) provides free groceries and a range of supportive services to the over 10,000 clients who visit the pantries each month – people of all ages, races and religions. SOVA offers sustenance, counseling, advocacy and the opportunity for volunteerism.
As a long time supporter of SOVA, Temple Sinai of Glendale has collection barrels in the entrance hall, and we encourage everyone to drop off non-perishable food (no glass please) each time you come to Temple. In addition, we participate in SOVA food drives during the High Holidays, Purim and Passover.
